Many years ago when Terry was about 7 years old, 6 years after this picture was taken, Terry dreamed of being a voice guy. Terry would practice by speaking into tape recorders, and listening to the commercial announcers and voice over people on the AM broadcast band every evening. What Terry always liked most, were the radio plays that he found on the air. He began to do the voices of the plays and try to do the scripts.
In the late 70's, while working as an engineer for a public broadcasting company, Terry got the chance to do some on air announcing during the TV auction. The next several years he practiced more and the engineering job exposed him to chances to learn better delivery and execution from some of the top production people in the area. Multi-track recorders and the razor blade became an obsession to refine the editing and voice over talent. Now the tape machines have been sold, and Adobe Audition has taken over.
Various production companies opened doors to voice over work as did radio stations in the Central Pennsylvania and New York City areas. Terry has also been featured as a character voice on morning radio programs in some top markets. When Terry enters a production studio, there is always someone who calls out, "Terry the voice guy is here." and the name stuck and became the marketing catch phrase.
